A new range of ‘home and living’ items will soon arrive in Lidl stores
Lidl has announced a whole host of ‘home and living’ products will be landing in its Middle Aisles this weekend, with one item bearing a resemblance to a pricier version from John Lewis.
As regular Lidl shoppers will be aware, the supermarket’s Middle Aisles feature an ever-changing selection of non-food bargains and limited-time deals. Fresh products and ranges arrive on Thursdays and Sundays, though stock quantities are limited and once they’re gone, they’re gone for good. Among the items hitting Lidl stores from Sunday, September 27, is the LIVARNO Grey Velour Bedspread.
At £19.99, it’s described as “decorative and versatile” and can be used as a “cosy bedspread or as a warm blanket”. The 220x240cm bedspread is made from 100% polyester, and can be machine washed at 30C and tumble dried.
By contrast, John Lewis is stocking a Cotton Velvet Quilt in Steel, alongside several other shades, for £180. The John Lewis option is billed as a “soft velvet-textured quilt made from breathable cotton to give you a lightweight layer to your bed in summer or extra warmth in the winter”.
Hand-guided quilting techniques have been employed, “with skilled artisans taking time to perfect each piece”. The John Lewis quilt boasts a “dense, cut pile that creates a plush feel with a subtle sheen.”
This particular version measures 220x220cm and is made from 100% cotton, although the filling is 100% polyester.
It can be washed at 30C and is suitable for tumble drying on a low heat setting. While Lidl doesn’t feature reviews on its website, the John Lewis equivalent boasts an impressive average online rating of 4.8 out of a possible five stars.
