“And John Harbaugh didn’t draft him,” he continued. “I know that’s not what we wanna hear and think but this is the reality of being an NFL player. It is a ‘What have you done for me now?’ business, and you can get replaced like that … I’m not sugarcoating the reality that Jaxson Dart might not be the guy.”
While his words seem harsh immediately following Dart being sidelined, Barber is not alone in raising these questions. There is online discourse over what the Giants could do next.
If they play poorly without Dart going forward, they will likely have a high draft pick in a 2027 class that features several strong quarterback prospects.
With the news of his 2026 season being over, Dart will have only played in 16 games over his first two NFL seasons.
