Star linebacker Brian Burns will miss time but is not expected to need surgery on the ankle injury he suffered late in the Giants’ 28-6 loss to the Rams on Monday night, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. It’s unclear how long he will be out for.
Burns was still on the field during the fourth quarter of the lopsided game when his ankle was rolled on and he had to gingerly walk to the back with the help of others.
His prognosis is still better than Dart’s, as the second-year QB will miss the rest of the season after an MRI exam found damage to his medial collateral ligament, meniscus and posterior cruciate ligament.
The Giants host the Titans on Sunday as they look to pick up the pieces and get back in the win column.
