Hyderabad: In view of the Maha Ganesh immersion on Friday, Telangana Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGSPDCL) has made extensive arrangements to ensure uninterrupted and safe power supply in and around the Hussainsagar area.
As part of these arrangements, the special TGSPDCL Camp Office established at NTR Marg was inaugurated by the Chairman & Managing Director, Jitesh V. Patil. Following the inauguration, the CMD inspected the power supply arrangements, safety measures, and emergency response systems at Tank Bund, NTR Marg, and the immersion ghats, and issued necessary instructions to the officials.
To ensure uninterrupted power supply during the immersion festival, TGSPDCL has specially arranged 32 Distribution Transformers (DTRs). These include 23 numbers of 500 kVA DTRs, eight numbers of 160 kVA DTRs, and one 1000 kVA DTR.
Further, to enhance the reliability of power supply, 19 dedicated 11 kV feeders sourced from half a dozen substations have been kept ready as alternative supply arrangements. A ring system has been implemented to ensure that power supply can be restored immediately through an alternate feeder in case of any interruption.
Speaking on the occasion, Patil said, “The Ganesh immersion is one of the largest public events in the State, attracting lakhs of devotees. Ensuring uninterrupted power supply during such a massive event is of utmost importance. Accordingly, we have made advance arrangements by deploying additional DTRs, alternative feeders, dedicated staff, and emergency response teams.”
“We are giving the highest priority to public safety and have taken all necessary precautions to prevent electrical accidents.” he explained. The TGSPDCL officials, engineers, and field staff will remain on duty round the clock until the completion of the immersion and continuously monitor the power supply system.
Special control rooms, mobile maintenance teams, and all required equipment have been kept ready to address any emergency situation.
