Parineeti Chopra calls post-pregnancy trolling illiterate
In a recent interview with Zoom, Parineeti spoke about the rising online chatter about post-pregnancy and the scrutiny a woman undergoes after delivering a baby. She questioned the expectations put on a woman just after she delivers a baby and called it absolute ‘illiteracy’.
She also pinpointed the negativity a woman faces months after delivering her baby, putting unwanted pressure on her. Questioning how postpartum turned negative, Parineeti said:
“So when you look at a woman, you’re like, ‘Oh my God, did you have a baby?’ And she’s like, ‘Yeah, look at my stretch marks. I just had a baby,’ and I’m like, ‘Wow, congrats. How is your baby?’ Right? How has that turned negative? Who the hell are you to tell a postpartum woman, ‘Abhi tumko 6 mahina ho gaya baby hue, abhi tum wapas aa jao’? I find it so illiterate.”
In the same interaction, Parineeti quipped, “How and when did that stretch mark or any change in your body become negative?” and revealed that she is indeed proud of her stretch marks. The actress said that looking at the changes on her body, she feels absolutely privileged to have made a baby with the help of her body.
She also questioned why actresses are trolled for taking up a certain kind of role after their marriage and kids. Parineeti’s outburst came after Katrina Kaif’s recent body-shaming episode. For the unversed, Katrina was recently trolled mercilessly for her pregnancy weight after she appeared at the Ambani family’s Ganesh Chaturthi celebration. Several Bollywood actors came out in support of Katrina and criticized the trolls.

For the same, the couple shared an intimate photo of them holding and kissing Neer’s tiny feet. Neer means purity and dignity. After Neer’s birth, several fans and family members showered the three of them with love and blessings. Announcing the name of their son, the couple wrote:
“Our hearts found peace in an eternal drop of life. We named him Neer’ – pure, divine, limitless.”
