The Opposition, led by the Congress, is set to submit notices in both Houses of Parliament seeking the impeachment of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
According to sources, a draft of the motion is currently being prepared and the notices are expected to be submitted in both Houses within the next few days.
The notices can be submitted even if the ongoing Parliament session is not in progress, sources said.
The Opposition had earlier raised demands for Kumar’s removal amid the ongoing controversy over the Election Commission and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
