Anti-migrant activist Daniel Thomas has been charged after he was seen in a video slashing at a dinghy in the English Channel with a knife.

The 37-year-old, also known as Danny Tommo, has been charged with one count of criminal damage and failing to disclose the PIN to his phone, Hampshire Police said.

The force said he has also been charged with a further offence for allegedly failing to disclose a phone PIN number.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on Friday morning.
