Hyderbad: The Khairatabad Ganesh Shobha Yatra will begin at Khairatabad Library Chowrasta and proceed towards NTR Marg, Crane No. 4.
The procession will pass through Rajdoot Chowrasta, Telephone Bhavan, Iqbal Minar Chowrasta, Telangana Thalli Chowrasta and the Secretariat before reaching NTR Marg.
Hyderabad City Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar said Friday is the final day of the Ganesh immersion in Hyderabad, with the massive 72-foot Khairatabad Ganesh idol scheduled to be immersed in Hussain Sagar.
He said the rituals and pooja have been completed, while welding work is still underway and will be completed soon. The immersion procession will begin after the work is completed, and the idol is expected to be immersed in Hussain Sagar by around 2 pm, as was the case last year.
Sajjanar said elaborate security arrangements have been made in view of the large crowds expected to gather for the immersion. Nearly 2,000 police personnel, 25 SHE Teams and 15 CCS crime teams have been deployed to manage security and maintain law and order.
He said devotees had cooperated with the police and followed traffic rules during last year’s immersion and expressed hope that people would extend similar cooperation this year as well.
