Dove Cameron and Damiano David are officially married, but the wedding has once again put the Måneskin frontman‘s long-term relationship with his ex-girlfriend in focus.
Long before he began his relationship with the actress, David spent six years with Italian model and activist Giorgia Soleri. Many fans still believe infidelity might have played a part in their breakup, but the story is far from what exactly happened between them.

Then, in June 2023, fans were left shocked when a video of David kissing another woman at a nightclub went viral online. The woman was later identified by multiple outlets as model Martina Taglienti, a close friend of Måneskin bassist Victoria De Angelis. The clip immediately fueled speculation that David had been unfaithful to Soleri.

“I am very sorry this video came out, it was not how we wanted to handle the situation and it was my mistake. Me and Giorgia had decided to break up a few days ago, so there was no betrayal of any kind. I hope this doesn’t affect Giorgia’s image and that you can respect the delicacy of this moment.”
Georgia also later spoke up about the breakup, making clear that their relationship had not been monogamous. She explained that exclusivity was not a value she personally subscribed to and said her relationship with David was also “not monogamous” by mutual agreement. Sharing her side of the story, she wrote (as translated):
“I find that being able to live one’s sexuality in a free, consensual and complete way is beautiful and enriching for oneself and for all the people who, in different ways, relate to us. I do not consider exclusivity a value…which is why the relationship between me and Damiano was, by mutual agreement and in a completely consensual way, not monogamous.”
Soleri did, however, say she had asked David to keep their private lives discreet until they could publicly announce the breakup themselves. She described herself as disappointed that the video emerged before that announcement, while also acknowledging that both people in a relationship can make mistakes. She wrote:
“To protect us in this delicate moment made of enormous changes, I had explicitly asked to have some discretion in our public lives, at least until the day when…we would have communicated that we were no longer a couple… But as angry, hurt, and disappointed as I am, I can’t help but consider our human nature, made up of trial and error.”
Soleri continued, “Could have Damiano avoided it? Probably yes. The same way I could have avoided other mistakes during these 6 beautiful years together. We are human…We suffer and laugh like anyone else. I only ask you to have respect for us as people and for this love which has been very strong, intense and profound.”
Based on their public statements, there is no confirmation that infidelity ended their six-year relationship. David and Soleri have reportedly remained close even after the breakup, and some of their posts are still public on their social media.
