Earlier, it was reported that the veteran cricketer is at high risk of a brain stroke, and his situation reportedly can worsen if he is not taken care of. The report also alleged that Vinod’s cricket friends, including Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar, and Kapil Dev, helped him financially during treatment.

A video featuring Vinod Kambli has been circulating, sparking concern among fans. The video was taken from Thane’s Nidan Center for Elderly Care, where Kambli is currently staying. In the video, Kambli assured fans that he was doing well at the facility and was being well cared for. Kambli looked unrecognisable in the video as he looked old and weak.

As the former middle-order batter confirmed his well-being at the facility, many people noticed that he was even struggling to speak. Speaking about himself, Kambli said:
“I am Vinod Kambli. And where I am… I am in Nidan. I have received very good facilities, and I would say hygiene and all, everything is first class. Nowhere does it feel like I am not at home. I have received a lot of love from the people here.”
All about Vinod Kambli’s health issues
Vinod Kambli has had many health challenges over the past couple of years, and he also had to undergo two heart surgeries back in 2013. In October 2024, a video of Kambli surfaced, in which the cricketer was seen struggling to get off his bike. He was later found to have a clot in his brain, and his friend told Hindustan Times that he was at high risk of a brain stroke.
In a conversation with Hindustan Times, his friend, Marcus Couto, revealed that the former cricketer had a clot in his brain. He also mentioned that earlier Vinod used to face difficulty in walking; however, now he is able to walk with the help of a stick. Reportedly, Vinod is getting help from cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar and Kapil Dev.
In the same interaction, Marcus also said he created a WhatsApp group that includes multiple cricketers who donate money for Vinod’s treatment. Elaborating on the same, he said:
“I have formed a WhatsApp group including his friends – mostly cricketers –, and without taking names, they contribute a lot financially. Vinod has a clot in his brain, which cannot be removed because he did not take precautions early. And the doctor has suggested that he could have a brain stroke. Because of his willpower, he is conjuring whatever he can.”
The former Indian cricketer, in an earlier interview with Vicky Lalwani, had revealed that he was fighting a persistent urine infection due to which he had collapsed and had fallen down. Kambli also revealed that he was admitted to three different hospitals after his health condition worsened. Talking about his health scare, Kambli said that his wife and kids came to his rescue during that period.
