Mahabubabad: A special programme was organised at Kambalapalli Peddacheruvu in Mahabubabad mandal on Saturday to mark World Tourism Day.
District collector Sneha Shabarish attended the event as the chief guest.
Villagers welcomed her with cultural performances, including Kolatam, Chirutala Ramayanam, Bathukamma and Bonalu.
The collector later offered special prayers at the ancient Shiva temple near Peddacheruvu and planted a sapling on the premises.
She also visited a painting and photo exhibition featuring tourist destinations prepared by students.
The collector said the district administration was working on a special action plan to develop tourist attractions including the Kuravi Veerabhadra Swamy Temple, Kandikonda Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple, Bayyaram Peddacheruvu, Bheemuni Padam, Gunjedu Musalamma Temple, Edu Bavulu, Kambalapalli Peddacheruvu, Green Hills, Pulimadugu camping areas and the Bayyaram waterfall.
She urged the media, social media influencers, film personalities, poets, writers and YouTubers to partner in promoting these destinations on a wider scale.
She congratulated officials and villagers for successfully organising the programme.
