According to reports, Colin Kaepernick’s wife, Nessa Diab, was born to Egyptian parents, who later emigrated to the United States. On an episode of the Guy Code podcast, Nessa addressed her parents’ sacrifices. She claimed that her father moved to the United States with only USD 200 in his pocket. Nessa said that every time she thinks she is working hard, all she does is remember that her parents worked way harder. When they came to the US, her father worked three jobs, including serving as a security guard. On the other hand, her mother used to clean up hotels.
While Neesa’s parents raised her in Southern California, she also spent considerable time in Saudi Arabia. This was when her father was transferred there for work. During her conversation on the podcast, Nessa recalled how bombings and terrorist attacks were so common there that she became used to it. Giving an example of an incident, she said:
“I remember this one terrorist attack that happened in Saudi Arabia. I was making a friendship bracelet, and our air conditioning blew all the way in the apartment. And it was just a terrorist attack. It was just so normal.”
Back in the US, Neesa Diab graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a degree in mass communication. After working in places like iHeartRadio and LA-based station Power 106, she rose to fame as the host of Girl Code, a spinoff of the hit reality television series Guy Code. From this point onwards, it was smooth sailing for Neesa as she got the chance to work on several more hosting gigs, including Teen Mom, The Real World, and Snooki & J Woww after-show specials.
Neesa Diab is also a prominent voice on Hot 97, New York City’s legendary radio station. There, she hosts a nationally syndicated radio show called Nessa On Air.
It is worth mentioning that in addition to her on-air gigs, Neesa is known to be an outspoken activist who co-founded the non-profit Know Your Rights Camp. The non-profit focuses on empowering youth in Black and Brown communities. Nessa also advocates for women’s issues, including reproductive rights.
Colin Kaepernick and Neesa Diab’s relationship
Colin Kaepernick and his wife, Neesa Diab, have not publicly revealed when exactly they tied the knot. However, in an interview with TMZ Sports in August 2025, Nessa claimed that she and the former NFL quarterback got married “years ago.” Her remark came a month after she shared a video on Instagram where she said:
“For all the publications out there, do some research. I’m not Colin’s girlfriend or roommate or whatever – I’m his wife.”
Neesa and Colin share one child. The couple took to Instagram on August 28, 2022, to share the happy news. In a black-and-white photo, Neesa and Colin could be seen sitting on the hospital bed holding their newborn. At the time, Neesa called her husband an “amazing dad” and wrote in the caption:
“I thought long and hard about sharing our life-changing news today…Colin and I welcomed our amazing baby to the world a few weeks ago, and we are over the moon with our growing family.”
