Hyderabad: Police took 1,530 alleged eve-teasers into custody during a special drive conducted by SHE Teams from September 14 to 23 in Hyderabad.
As part of the drive, SHE Teams personnel monitored areas along the immersion route from Khairatabad to Balapur to prevent harassment and other incidents involving women and girls.
The teams kept a close watch on crowded areas and identified individuals allegedly involved in eve-teasing and other forms of harassment. The special drive was conducted as part of security measures during the Ganesh immersion festivities.
Police said the initiative was aimed at ensuring the safety and security of women and girls during the large-scale celebrations and preventing incidents of harassment in crowded areas.
