It’s been a few years since Taylor Swift released her song “Bejeweled,” but her nails definitely made the turquoise carpet at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards shimmer.
Swift, who is nominated for a plethora of awards at the show and will also receive the special, first-ever “Artist Director Honors,” absolutely sparkled in her much-anticipated appearance on the aforementioned carpet, and a lot of that glitter was concentrated on her fingertips. No, we’re not talking about her enormous engagement ring, but rather her manicure, a frosted, diamond-studded set with an ice-queen vibe that sent it straight to the top of our holiday party manicure moodboard.

Given that she plays the guitar and the piano, Swift keeps her nails short and often does them herself. While we don’t know if she played nail artist for the VMAs, she certainly nailed it (sorry) if she did! Her nails were painted a soft, sheer silver-grey shade that let a teeny bit of her natural nail color peek through, then dotted with rhinestones across each nail. Instead of a uniform application, the stones were placed randomly, including a cluster on her middle finger to accentuate her finger-spanning ring. The frosted diamonds blended in with the ultra-sparkly skirt of her Tamara Ralph Couture gown and slyly nodded at her both her newlywed status, not to mention her status as one of the most-awarded VMA artists of all time.
Swift isn’t just receiving a special award; she’s also premiering her new music video for “Patient Zero,” and is likely to rack up a few moonperson trophies throughout the evening. Knowing Swift, it’s probably not a coincidence that her mani matches her skirt, her diamonds, and the iconic VMA trophy. Bejeweled indeed!
