Nellore:Emphasising discipline, integrity and commitment in policing, ministers Anam Ramanarayana Reddy and Gottipati Ravi Kumar on Saturday urged newly trained police constables to make public safety and service their foremost priorities.
At the District Police Training Centre (DTC) at Chemudugunta in Nellore, 176 newly trained constables took part in the passing-out parade. Addressing the trainees, minister Ramanarayana Reddy said police personnel played a crucial role in protecting people and maintaining law and order. He urged them to maintain the physical fitness acquired during training throughout their careers and continuously update their knowledge of law, technology and cybercrime.
Minister Ramanarayana Reddy recalled his family’s long association with the police department and appreciated the efforts of SP Dr Ajitha Vejendla and training centre staff. Medals and mementoes were presented to outstanding trainees.
At the Ongole DTC, 190 Stipendiary Civil Police Constables (SCTPCs) completed nine months of rigorous training and participated in the passing-out parade in the presence of minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar. He said the police uniform represented responsibility rather than authority and advised recruits to treat citizens with respect, victims with empathy and enforce the law impartially.
The Ongole batch, which began training on December 22, 2025, included 16 postgraduates, 34 B.Tech graduates, 121 degree holders and 19 intermediate-qualified candidates. The trainees received instruction in criminal law, law and order, physical fitness, weapons handling, traffic management, swimming and driving, besides cybercrime, digital evidence, forensic science, artificial intelligence and cyber security.
They were also trained in Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS), e-Sakshya, e-Summons, e-Forensic and CDR (Call Detail Record)/IMEI number analysis.
Prakasam SP V. Harshavardhan Raju said policing was a public responsibility and urged recruits to uphold truth, justice, discipline and integrity. Collector P. Rajababu stressed the need to treat women, children and economically weaker sections with dignity and make effective use of technology in investigations.
Ongole MP Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy, Ongole MLA Damacharla Janardhan and Santhanuthalapadu MLA K. Vijay Kumar also addressed the recruits and highlighted the importance of discipline, mental fitness, technology and honest service.
