A video clip purportedly showing two teachers consuming liquor and non-vegetarian food inside a school here went viral on social media, prompting the education department to order a probe into the matter, officials said on Monday.One of the teachers seen in the video had already been suspended in a separate case, they said.
The video clip, although said to be old, went viral on Sunday. In the clip, two teachers are seen sitting inside school premises with liquor and meat. Besides, one of the accused teachers is seen behaving inappropriately with a school cook.
Maharajganj Basic Education Officer Surjeet Kumar Singh said a probe has been ordered into the matter. “An inquiry into the matter is underway. Further action will be taken on the basis of the findings,” Singh said, adding that the department is examining the circumstances surrounding the incident.
