BENGALURU: Having waited for Minister of Urban Development and Mysuru incharge Dr Yathindra Siddaramaiah enough and no sign of the Minister turning to the venue on time, Congress MLA and former minister Tanveer Sait on Monday left the venue-Mysore Palace premises, visibly unhappy.
A breakfast programme was organised for the family members of Mahouts and Kavadis of Dasara elephants at Mysore Palace premises and Yathindra Siddaramaiah was to serve the breakfast to the families. The programme was slated at 9 am and Tanveer Sait arrived at the venue on time and waited for the arrival of Yathindra. Even after Sait waited for about 45-minutes, there was no sign of Yathindra reaching the venue. Yathindra is the MLC while Tanveer Sait represents Narasimharaja Assembly seat in Mysuru city.
Losing his cool, Tanveer Sait questioned the punctuality of the Minister with MLC Thammaiah. “What to do if there is no punctuality,” Sait told Thammaiah. By then, Deputy Commissioner Lakshmikanth Reddy called Sait on his mobile phone to convince him not to leave the programme unattended and in reply to Deputy Commissioner, Tanveer Sait said “No.. no…There is a limit for everything.” Expressing displeasure, Sait said “Others things are okay but making Mahouts wait?” Sait left the venue saying to the Deputy Commissioner “I left.”
Later, Yathindra Siddaramaiah clarified he moved to a new house and could not find certain things resulting in his late arrival. Yathindra continued with the programme and joined the mahout families in the breakfast.
