Body-shaming has become common nowadays, and the entertainment industry has its own weird beauty standard set for women. Whenever an actress goes through a change and gains weight for whatever reason, she is being trolled brutally online. American singer and songwriter Lauren Jauregui, who rose to fame as a member of the girl group Fifth Harmony, has now come forward to share her own story.

In a recent interview with E! News, Lauren shared that she is in no mood to live up to societal expectations. She explained that just like other women, she also goes through a lot of change. She then revealed her struggle with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). She said:
“Honestly, I feel like it’s punk as f–k to not be a twig right now, and that’s kind of where I’m at. I am a woman. I fluctuate as all women do. I struggle with PCOS as well, which not a lot of people like to talk about.”
Lauren mentioned that even after facing trolls for her body, she thinks that she is beautiful. The former Fifth Harmony member explained that she does not want her confidence to depend on what other people think of her. She said, “I really feel like my aura, my light comes from within. Like I’m still doing my thing, and I’m still a star.”
In the same interview, Lauren stated that as she grew up, she became more mature, and thus, negative comments online do not affect her that much. She believed that some people who write very hateful comments online may be unhappy with themselves, so she chooses not to worry about their opinions. Lauren added that she focuses on the positive comments and really appreciates the love from her fans.
