Former Giants first-round pick Jason Pierre-Paul seemed to let the franchise know his services are available Monday after news broke that linebacker Brian Burns is likely out for the season with a torn ACL.
The 37-year-old — who played three games for the Buccaneers last season after being away being away from football for nearly two years — tagged the Giants in a post on X that said, “@Giants what’s up.”
Pierre-Paul earned an All-Pro selection and two of his three Pro Bowl nods during his eight seasons with the Giants from 2010-17.
He won his first Super Bowl when Big Blue defeated the Patriots during the 2011 season, and his second with the Buccaneers in the 2020 campaign.
Pierre-Paul signed with the Bucs’ practice squad in December 2025, and was activated for three games late in the season.
Burns sustained a knee injury in the fourth quarter of the Giants’ 12-7 victory over the Titans on Sunday.
He was already dealing with a sprained left ankle coming out of the 28-6 loss to the Rams at SoFi Stadium, and was listed as questionable to play against the Titans.
Burns’ injury occurred six days after Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart sustaied a season-ending left knee injury.
Dart underwent surgery to repair damage to his meniscus and medial collateral ligament Friday.
Head coach John Harbaugh said the team was waiting on results from Burns’ MRI Sunday night.
“There is some hope there, but we won’t know until we see the MRI,’’ Harbaugh said.
Burns had zero sacks in three games played this season.
Burns — who’s coming off a career-best 16.5 sack season in 2025 — is the highest-paid player on the team with a five-year, $141 million contract that runs through the 2028 season.
