Posh Spice has been seen back in the recording studio, singing again, as her youngest son Cruz Beckham and his band Breakers worked on new music together
Former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham looks like she’s making music again. The singer-turned-fashion designer was pictured singing into a microphone at a recording studio with her son Cruz Beckham.
21-year-old Cruz snapped the picture, in which his mum sang into a microphone whilst holding her phone up. Cruz smirked at the camera from the corner, wearing headphones over his head so that he could listen to Victoria. One of the music producers was seen in the background with similar headphones on, but he was just staring at Posh Spice as she performed.
Posting the picture to Instagram, Cruz, who has his own band called Breakers and played at Reading and Leeds this year, wrote: “Yeah, we got Posh back in the studio.”
This comes 13 years after Victoria last released a single. The 52-year-old first found fame as part of girl group Spice Girls in the 1990s.
The band, which also included Melanie ‘Mel B’ Brown, Melanie ‘Mel C’ Chisholm, Geri Halliwell and Emma Bunton, was hugely successful, with all their albums cracking the top 10 of the UK charts and nine UK number one singles to their name. Their hits included Wannabe, which celebrated its 30th anniversary this year.
The success of Spice Girls also ushered in a new wave of UK girl groups, with roughly 20 such bands forming in 1999 and another 35 debuting the year after. Many groups and female artists have cited Spice Girls as an incpiration, including Adele, Little Mix, Charlie XCX and the Pussycat Dolls.
After Spice Girls disbanded in 2000, Victoria signed with Virgin Records. She released her debut solo album, which was self-titled, in 2001, which reached number 10 on the UK album charts.
Her lead single Not Such An Innocent Girl reached number six on the singles chart and had a resurgence in 2026, where it got to number one on the singles downloads and singles sales charts, becoming Victoria’s first solo number one.
The star recorded two more albums between 2001 and 2003, but these were not released. The last song that Victoria recorded and put out was This Groove, released in 2003.
Victoria did return to the stage for a reunion tour with Spice Girls in 2007 and sang at the closing ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics, but has focused on fashion since her final single.
Meanwhile, her son Cruz has released a debut album with Breakers. The band also performed at Reading Festival this summer, where his pop star mum and football star dad, David Beckham, turned up to support him. The couple and two of their other children, Harper and Romeo, cheered Cruz on from the wings as he performed.
One person who was not there was Brooklyn Beckham, the eldest of the Beckham children. He has avoided many family events this year, as he is currently in a highly publicised feud with his parents, having accused them of controlling him throughout his childhood.
