Hyderabad: A 52-member team from AIIMS Bibinagar, comprising doctors, junior and senior residents, nurses and allied health professionals, provided medical services to 428 people at a health camp held at Government Tribal Welfare Ashram High School in Chinna Boyinapalli, Eturunagaram mandal, on September 27. The camp was organised in collaboration with Sammakka Sarakka Central Tribal University and the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) for residents of the village and surrounding areas.
Services included general medicine, orthopaedic and dental consultations, assessment of obstetric and gynaecological concerns, breast cancer screening, and consultations on other health issues, a statement said. The team also provided information on prevention of non-communicable diseases and nutritional guidance. Ayurveda consultations were also offered during the camp. People requiring further medical attention were advised to undergo follow-up care.
The camp was held under the guidance of AIIMS-Bibinagar executive director Prof. Dr Amita Aggarwal, dean (research) Dr Rahul Narang and Dr Y.L. Srinivas of the Sammakka Sarakka Central Tribal University. ITDA project director Lenin Vatsal Toppo, and Dr Kranti, Deputy DMHO, ITDA Eturunagaram, and school headmaster Ramesh also supported the camp.
