Alison Hammond let it slip how she really feels about her Bake Off contestant now they’re sporting an all-new rugged look, while some debated whether it’d always been that way
Alison Hammond has left her Great British Bake Off co-star red-faced after admitting she finds them “hot” after their rugged makeover. Channel 4‘s GBBO is back, and this time, sensual star Nigella Lawson, 66, has replaced Prue Leith to bring pearls of wisdom to all the contestants. But it isn’t Nigella that Alison has been flirting with, it’s comedian and actor Noel Fielding, 53.
Despite the fact that Alison Hammond is in a relationship with a man 22 years her junior, this didn’t stop her from telling her co-star that she thought he was looking good since he changed one thing.
On Waitrose’s Dish Podcast, with hosts Nick Grimshaw and Michelin-starred chef Angela Hartnett, Alison said: “I’ve never seen Noel with a beard, and I am obsessed”.
Turns out she wasn’t the only one either, because Nick also said “yeah” when she admitted her obsession with the face furniture.
Alison joked that she wanted the podcast recording to be over so she could get her hands on him, even though he’s married and has two children with Lliana Bird.
Although it’s clear it was just friendly banter, she was turning the flirting up to maximum during the podcast recording, but many were in stitches at her audacity.
“I feel like you’ve always had one,” Nick said about Noel’s beard, but many will know that he hasn’t, and in fact, rocked sideburns and a shaved face not too long ago.
“This is amazing, you are hot,” Alison gushed, as she couldn’t get over how good her co-star looked with a beard.
Noel laughed, joking that it was “an exclusive,” admitting that the beard came about because he was on holiday and just didn’t shave. And it ended up looking good.
Alison then joked that her relationship with Dermot O’Leary, who she works with on ITV’s This Morning, is like a sibling relationship, but with Noel, she said “it’s not” like “brother-sister” at all.
“It’s more like a friendship…with benefits,” she said, as the whole studio erupted into laughter and cheers at how bold Alison was being.
In the comments, someone joked that “Noel was definitely blushing,” and it certainly looked like he was at one point in the conversation.
“How could she not love Noel? Don’t we all?” another wrote.
However, some didn’t like the way that Alison was speaking to Noel, with one woman saying if the shoe were on the other foot, people would be complaining.
She wrote: “While I can see the fun they are having – I can’t help feeling if it was directed at a woman it might not be viewed the same – Noel does look a bit uncomfortable”.
