Lindsay Clancy has been in the headlines ever since her ex-husband, Patrick Clancy, bared his heart out about the horrors of her killing their three children in 2023. Lindsay was on a five-week trial for the murder of her three children, five-year-old Cora, three-year-old Dawson and eight-month-old Callan. She had pleaded not guilty as she was dealing with postpartum psychosis.
Lindsay Clancy first time spoke about her murder trial
On September 29, 2026, Lindsay appeared for a status conference in Plymouth Superior Court in Massachusetts, where prosecutors discussed whether they intend to retry her. When Judge William Sullivan greeted the court, Lindsay responded, “Good morning.”
Lindsay has been charged with the murder of three children by strangulation. In her defense, Lindsay argued that she suffered postpartum psychosis at the time. She also tried to end her life by suicide. She slit her wrist and neck and jumped out of a second-story window. The huge fall left her paralyzed from the waist down.
However, prosecutors argued that Lindsay deliberately killed her three children and understood the difference between right and wrong at the time of the crime. However, it has been declared a mistrial as the jury could not reach a unanimous decision. Her lawyer filed a motion stating that she should be spared a second trial on the grounds of her mental health.
In the recent meeting, the lawyer asked the judge to spare Lindsay, as the prosecutors could not present sufficient evidence in the matter to prove she was criminally responsible for the killing of her children. Meanwhile, Lindsay remained on suicide watch at a state psychiatric hospital.
During the first-ever interview, Patrick Clancy revealed what Lindsay Clancy told him after killing their children. He had asked her if she had remembered anything. She told her it was like a dream and she remembered it the same way. She said:
“I asked her if she remembered it. She said it was like a dream and she remembered it the same way you would remember a dream after waking up.”
Patrick revealed that his ex-wife, Lindsay, never asked for forgiveness, but he gave it to her for moving on in life. He revealed that Lindsay was labeled as ‘Killer mom’, ‘Baby Murderer’, ‘Monster’, and whatnot, but in reality, she was just going through a mental illness. Patrick was also asked if he thought he had failed or could have acted differently. To answer it, he stated that he had done the best he could with what he had at that time. Now, he lives with the outcome every day.
Patrick’s new wife, Rachel Danis, also joined him for the interview and defended their love story. For the unversed, Patrick and Rachel’s appearance together created a lot of stir, as earlier people had been questioning the former’s involvement in the murder of his children. However, during the interview, Rachel defended him and called him a ‘selfless father’.
But Patrick’s new interview further left the netizens talking. One user on Reddit questioned his interview while requesting privacy, and wrote, “I don’t understand requesting privacy and then appearing on a talk show. I understand addressing rumors to some degree, but why not let it fizzle out instead? I think people will take the opportunity to try and rip him apart further and dissect any words said, especially with Rachel there? Not quite sure of the end goal of this, really.”
Earlier, there was one instance when Lindsay broke down in court after the autopsy of one of her children was discussed in court.
