The Bruins will open the new season at home when they host the Rangers on Tuesday night.

Boston is coming off a split preseason, going 2-2-0 through four exhibition games. Now, the Bruins will turn their attention to the games that count as they begin the 2026-27 season against a familiar Original Six rival.
Led by newly named captain David Pastrnak, the Bruins will have plenty of intrigue up front. Pastrnak could be joined by offseason addition JJ Peterka and Pavel Zacha on Boston’s top line, while young forwards James Hagens and Fraser Minten will be among the players to watch as the Bruins open the campaign.

10:31 p.m.: Hagens attempted shot is blocked with less than five minutes remaining in regulation. Swayman and Shesterkin are having a good night in the net.
