Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan will be one of the many stars featuring in Karan Johar’s Koffee with Karan season 9. On September 30, 2026, Karan Johar posted an official video confirming that Koffee With Karan would be closing its shutters, with season 9 being its last. The news comes as a shock to all the fans, following the end of an era for such a pop culture phenomenon.
Karan Johar conveys the message with heartfelt emotions in a video directed towards the fans. He said, “This is more an emotional message than a professional announcement.” Karan continued, “With a kind of heavy heart, I have to say that… This will be my very last season of Koffee with Karan.”
Sara Ali Khan is no stranger to the show, having made three separate appearances in Seasons 6, 7 and 8. Her first was in Season 6 (2018) alongside her father, Saif Ali Khan, to promote her upcoming debut film, Kedarnath. It was at this time that she famously quoted having an innocent crush on Kartik Aaryan and wanting to go out on a date with him. In Season 7 (2022), she came with her good friend Janhvi Kapoor, and in Season 8 (2023) with Ananya Panday. She also appeared on a special edition show called Koffee Shots with Karan alongside Dhanush.
Ibrahim Ali Khan, on the other hand, would be making his official debut on the show. While not actually making an appearance before, he was famously referenced back in Season 7. Ali Bhatt called him the cutest person with context to a sweet message he had sent her. In it, he praises her acting in Gangubai Kathiawadi.
Ibrahim typed, “Had to remove the time to message you personally… I cannot believe this is the same lady, I learn from every time, you’re just phenomenal. You’re so so good as Gangu and seeing you as Rani and then watching this film, it’s safe to say you mould yourself effortlessly, like water taking shape of its container. So So good! Best actress in this country,”
Apart from them, even their parents, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan, are scheduled to make a separate appearance on the show.
