The TGSRTC staff and workers union, affiliated to the Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC), and the Telangana RTC Workers Union have decided to jointly contest the TGSRTC secret ballot elections scheduled for October 9.
Both unions will contest the election as a single union in the name of the Telangana RTC Workers Union, under the INTUC banner, and will contest the election on the “Bow and Arrow” symbol.
The decision was taken following the directions of All India INTUC president Dr G. Sanjeeva Reddy. This understanding brings the two organisations together on a common platform with the objective of strengthening the representation and unity of TGSRTC workers.
Following the election, the two unions and its members have agreed to proceed towards their merger and the necessary process will be undertaken to extend INTUC affiliation to the Telangana RTC Workers Union
Dr G. Sanjeeva Reddy appealed to all TGSRTC workers to extend their support to this united platform and to vote for the Telangana RTC Workers Union — Bow and Arrow — symbol.
Speaking on the occasion Satyajeet Reddy, Bhaskar Reddy, Adil Shariff, Vijay Kumar Yadav, R. D. Chandra Shekar and Kasireddy Jagan Mohan Reddy stated that this united effort would provide a stronger and more effective platform for the workers of TGSRTC.
