Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) officials have held discussions with builders and developers on building permissions, water supply connections, and processing applications through the Andhra Pradesh Development Permission Management System (APDPMS).
Chief city planner A. Prabhakar Rao chaired the meeting at the GVMC head office. Water Supply department superintending engineer Pallam Raju and other officials attended the meeting.
Prabhakar Rao said the civic body is taking steps to address concerns raised by builders and developers over building approvals and utility connections. He explained the procedures and recent guidelines governing building permissions, plan scrutiny, and approvals under APDPMS.
Pallam Raju outlined the procedures, timelines, and fee structure for obtaining individual, semi-bulk, and bulk water connections. He advised apartment developers to obtain the appropriate semi-bulk or bulk connections, based on the number of dwelling units in accordance with the prescribed norms.
Officials said they are scrutinising and processing online applications within the stipulated timelines. Measures are being taken to streamline the approval process and improve transparency.
Builders and developers raised questions over delayed building permissions, water supply connections, and APDPMS applications. Officials educated them about the applicable rules and procedures.
Prabhakar Rao said the Town Planning department would continue to review issues affecting the construction sector and work to ensure timely processing of applications.
Those who attended the meeting included Town Planning officer Dhanunjaya Reddy, deputy city planners Ramamohan, Venkateswara Rao, and Madhusudan, executive engineer Muralikrishna, and representatives of builders and developers.
