Caitlin Clark’s first-half efforts in the Fever’s Game 2 win over the Aces took a toll.
“To be honest, I threw up everything in my stomach at halftime,” Clark told Prime Video after the win. “I was just out there so tired. It wasn’t because I didn’t feel good or anything. I just was that gassed.”
Clark led Indiana to a 99-89 victory over Las Vegas, dropping 27 points with 15 assists and seven rebounds.
Clark joked, “Let’s throw up again at halftime of the next game,” as the Fever look to win the deciding Game 3 against the Aces.
Clark went on to clarify why she felt the need to throw up.
“Yeah, that is gross,” Clark said. “I think I was just really tired, and then sometimes I drink too much water.”
Clark went into detail, saying it was “an incredible amount of throw-up” and was apologetic “to anybody that was sitting in the vicinity of that trash can.”
In Tuesday’s performance, Clark became the first player in WNBA history with at least 25 points and 15 assists in a game.
Clark highlighted the Fever’s heightened toughness in the second game of the series.
“I thought that we were just soft in Game 1 and I thought tonight we just played a lot tougher,” she said. “Just really proud of this group.”
Game 2 in Indianapolis was not without controversy, with A’ja Wilson’s interaction with a Fever fan leading to her getting a technical foul.
Game 3 between the Fever and Aces tips off Thursday at 9 p.m. ET at Las Vegas’s Michelob ULTRA Arena.
