Brooklyn Beckham and wife Nicola have been accused of upstaging Victoria Beckham by making a string of high-profile appearances at Paris Fashion Week, as their appearance in the French capital is slammed as ‘beyond weird’
Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz-Beckham have been accused of upstaging Victoria Beckham by making a string of high-profile appearances at Paris Fashion Week ahead of her biggest show of the year.
The couple have spent the past two days being photographed around the French capital and attending major shows as Victoria prepared to unveil her latest collection tonight (FRI).
Their presence has inevitably fuelled fresh attention on the bitter Beckham family feud, with Victoria’s Paris show one of the most important dates in her professional calendar.
One source said: “For a couple who have made clear they want distance from the Beckham family machine, Brooklyn and Nicola could hardly have chosen a more conspicuous week to be in Paris. It feels bordering on cruel to be swanning around the city knowing how important this day is for Victoria.”
Another friend added: “Brooklyn and Nicola must know that their presence there will get everyone talking. It feels like a calculated move particularly as it’s not really clear what the pair’s fashion credentials are to be attending these shows in the first place.”
Both Nicola and Brooklyn have been documenting their trip to the city on social media including footage of them arriving at their hotel to bouquets of pink flowers.
They then posted their trip to Parisian restaurant Loulou, before hitting the front row of two exclusive fashion shows in the full glare of the world’s media.
They included the Balenciaga show in which they kissed and cuddled while sat next to designer Pierpaolo Piccioli’s dog, Miranda.
Hot sauce entrepreneur Brooklyn, and actress Nicola, are said to have a friendship with Piccioli.
In 2022, when he was artistic director of Valentino, Piccioli stepped in to design Nicola’s wedding dress after she decided against wearing one of her mother-in-law’s creations.
And speaking at the event, Brooklyn said: “We love Paulo, we love the brand, the space is beautiful and we are very very excited.”
Nicola added: “He is such a genius…we are his biggest fan. We love him so much.”
Brooklyn was also seen hand-in-hand with his actress wife for Parisian jewellery house MESSIKA’s show as well. It came the same night as younger Romeo, 24, was attending a party at Hotel Plaza Athénée – just a mere nine minute walk away from Brooklyn
The Paris trip has echoes of the couple’s trip to Saint Tropez, in the south of France, where the Beckhams were also present. Despite their close proximity to the UK, it’s understood that the couple have not been in touch with any of the extended Beckham family either. One source said: “It’s just so sad that this feud clearly goes beyond the immediate family. They would all dearly love to hear from Brooklyn.”
In France, Nicola and Brooklyn were staying at close pal Elton John’s mansion, as well as on his yacht. The pair nearly came face to face with Posh and Becks spotted just five minutes away from where their son had been on the same day.
A source said at the time: “It would have been the first time they’ve all come face to face for a long time. I think everyone is probably quite relieved it didn’t happen, given the current bad blood. It would have been incredibly awkward.”
Insiders say it’s “beyond weird” that the pair are ending up in the same locations. One said: “It feels very contrived.”
Brooklyn has previously claimed his parents have tried to ruin his relationship with Nicola and orchestrated media leaks about her.
He recently said his wife were “stronger than ever” and that they want a life of “peace, privacy and happiness” away from “image, press, or manipulation.”
When asked about married life with Nicola, Brooklyn told People magazine last year it was like “a never-ending play date.”
“We don’t like to go out for dinner, really,” he said “We don’t like to party or anything like that. When we are together, which is a lot of the time, we just hang out with our four dogs, and drink wine at home.”
Sources close to Nicola have previously insisted there is no chance of reconciliation with David and Victoria at the moment given the “highly charged atmosphere.”
Her friends have previously said that as “an outsider coming into the Beckham family, she has helped Brooklyn see the emotional abuse and toxic behaviour within”.
The claims – described as “parently untrue and ludicrous” by friends of the Beckhams – marked the “nail in the coffin” of any future relationship, according to insiders.
The Mirror has told before how David and Victoria Beckham’s pals were desperately worried about their son Brooklyn’s “unhealthy” relationship with wife Nicola.
Friends of the couple have said that they believe Nicola is “isolating” their son from not only them but his friends and extended family members.
It comes as Brooklyn has previously pointedly pledged his loyalty to his wife in a social media post, saying: “I always choose you, baby.”
