Primark has launched £6 shoes that are ‘so similar’ to Chanel ones that will set you back a huge £820, and one woman went on a hunt to find them in real life…

Do you have Chanel taste, but a Primark budget? Fear not, because the budget high street fashion retailer has just released a pair of ballet flat shoes that have been described as “so similar” to the expensive originals, but priced at a whopping £814 cheaper than the real deal.

Sara Saleh, who posts about all things fashion and beauty, shared that she’d heard about the shoes and needed to go see whether her local Primark had them in stock. She searched high and low for them in the store, and was thrilled when she spotted them in stock, and even bought a pair for her sister because she knew that she’d love them.

The beige and black shoes look almost identical to the ones sold by Chanel for £820, although the originals are made from lambskin and patent calf skin, so you are getting better material for your money. It just depends on whether your priority is quality, or keeping up with the latest style.

Sara did point out that the suede is “very much darker” than the originals, and she thought “it would be quite light cream”. But, she liked them regardless, and for £6, they’re well worth a try on.

Primark’s website writes: “The ballet core trend has our stamp of approval this season!

“Crafted with a faux leather composition and a bow detail to the front, these shoes are the pair you’ll reach for over and over again! What’s not to love?

“Dress them up to the office with slim-fit trousers and a satin shirt for a formal workwear look, or keep it casual with denim mom jeans and a graphic tee.

“However you choose to style them, these stunning ballerinas will not disappoint. With various colourways to pick from, we wouldn’t blame you for grabbing one of each!”

Chanel’s website doesn’t have a description of the shoes, other than what they’re made of, but it does show that they feature the iconic double C logo, which the upmarket brand is known and loved for.

It’s important when making your decision about which shoes to get that you set a budget for yourself and decide which version would best suit your spending plans.

You also need to work out whether it’s worth getting the pricier version because they’re made with better quality materials, or if you can make your outfits work with the budget version.

In the comments, someone said that they’re “so so cute” and that they “love” the Primark version.

However, another complained: “They’re cute, but they hurt my feet.”

But someone disagreed, writing: “I have these, and they haven’t hurt me at all, so defo recommend.”
