Days after Ken Urker was found dead in his Florida home, Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s ex-husband, Ryan Scott Anderson, has reacted to the tragedy. Anderson, who married Gypsy while they were both in prison and divorced less than a year later, admits that he never saw “eye-to-eye” with Ken, who returned to Gypsy’s life after the divorce.
As details surrounding the 34-year-old’s final days and the possibility of foul play in his death, Anderson says he doesn’t believe his ex-wife had something to do with it.
Ryan Anderson says his immediate concern was Gypsy and her daughter after learning of Ken’s death
During an October 2, 2026 appearance on The Sarah Fraser Show, Anderson revealed that his immediate concern was for Gypsy and the couple’s young daughter, Aurora. He feels he may not be the right person to speak up, but he feels “anger” and “sadness” at the whole situation. He said:
“I hate that this happened… This isn’t about me. This isn’t anything to do with me. I don’t even know if I should speak on it. It’s just a sad situation… I feel anger, I feel sadness, I’m upset, I feel it all.”

He added that he was struggling to process the news himself. While he didn’t directly connect with Gypsy, having had no contact in “over a year,” he said he reached out to her father, Rod Blanchard, and assured him that he will be there for Blanchard if she needs him. Anderson shared:
“I texted her dad, just to let him know to tell her that I’m here if she needs me…I worry about her, I worry about her daughter, I worry about her family…I don’t know if she will (reach out to me) or not, but if she does, I will be there for her.”
Anderson’s comments come as an old and much more hostile exchange between him and Ken has resurfaced. The two men never met in person, but they had exchanged messages after Anderson’s relationship with Gypsy ended.
Ryan Anderson once sent a series of slur-filled messages to Ken Urker
Anderson acknowledged that he and Ken “never really saw eye-to-eye” and admitted that their interactions were never particularly friendly. Speaking about the few times they interacted, Anderson said: “they were never good.”
That history included a 2025 text exchange in which Anderson believed he was messaging Gypsy. Ken answered instead, prompting Anderson to lash out. A text exchange obtained by TMZ shows Anderson calling Ken a homophobic slur and a “punk ass,” while also making vile remarks about Gypsy. Despite that history, Anderson said Ken’s death still affected him. He agreed that he hated “to hear that somebody passed away.”

Gypsy and Anderson married in 2022 while she was still incarcerated. She was released from prison in December 2023, and the couple separated several months later. Gypsy subsequently rekindled her relationship with Ken, whom she had originally met while she was incarcerated. The couple eventually welcomed their daughter, Aurora, in December 2024.
Ken was found dead inside his Louisiana home on October 1, 2026, the same day as his 34th birthday. According to police records, family members told dispatchers that Ken had been in a “dark place” and had previously threatened suicide. A handgun, syringe, and other drug-related items were found near his body.
An autopsy has been completed, but the official cause of death has not been announced, with toxicology results still pending. Authorities have said there were no initial signs of foul play, while the investigation remains ongoing.
Gypsy’s ex-husband also weighed in about her alleged involvement in Urker’s death, given her horrifying criminal history. He firmly noted, “I don’t think she has anything to do with it… I highly doubt that.”
