Hyderabad: Jadhav Praveen, a native of Downelly Thanda in Kuntala mandal of Adilabad district, missed an NMDC Steel Limited recruitment examination after his call letter reached him a day after the scheduled exam.
Praveen, who completed his Civil Engineering course at IIIT Basar, had undergone one year of training as an Executive Trainee (Civil Engineer) with the National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) in Pune.
He later applied for a recruitment examination conducted by NMDC Steel Limited and selected Hyderabad as his examination centre. According to Praveen, he received the call letter dated September 16, while the examination was scheduled for October 1. However, the letter reached him through the postal department only on October 2, leaving him unable to appear for the examination.
Praveen approached the post office and questioned officials about the delay. He said that as the letter was dispatched on September 16, it should have reached him well before the examination date, even if postal delivery took around 10 days.
Postal officials told him that the letter had reached their office on October 1. They said they visited his residence to deliver it, but he was unavailable at the time, and the letter was delivered to him on October 2.
Praveen expressed deep anguish over missing the examination and losing an important career opportunity due to the delayed delivery of the call letter.
