Miuccia Prada’s SS27 ready-to-wear collection for Miu Miu swapped last season’s outdoor mood for retro sporty, collegiate dressing with a richer, more polished finish. Presented on the 4th of October at Paris’s Palais d’Iéna, the show unfolded in a gymnasium setting, with a purple court-lined runway setting the scene.

The show opened with the tailoring in heritage checks—boxy tweed and houndstooth blazers layered over cropped jersey tops and pleated skirts, with drawstring waists fastened by rope laces. A red houndstooth jacket, paired with patterned micro shorts and a navy V-neck, gave the preppy mood a cheeky twist.

Suits with glossy python print in brown and mustard yellow were paired with a scarf-style polka-dot cropped top stitched into a halter neck, while the satin blouses were layered beneath a raw-edged leather vest. Leather wraparound minis with high slits and chain-and-grommet belts brought a Western edge, while vintage curtain-style prints appeared across pleated mini dresses.

Everyday dressing remained the heart of the collection—oversized blazers were paired with striped track trousers, and the collection proceeded with crinkled garments as if they were made to live in. Accessories kept the mood playful, from oval sunglasses and snakeskin satchels to buckled loafers, bow-trimmed slingbacks, thong sandals and logo sneakers in green, red and blue. The cast was equally eclectic, with Olivia Colman, Emma Corrin, Jamie Bell and Noah Jupe among those walking the show. When asked about the diverse casting, Prada explained that the aim was to include young faces, older women, men and a range of different characters.

Together, the looks captured Prada’s ability to make sportswear and tailoring feel elevated without losing their casual spirit. Heritage fabrics met athletic details, delicate crystals met rope laces, and polished tailoring was offset by pieces that felt distinctly easy. The result was playful, wearable and unmistakably Miu Miu, proving once again that the most everyday pieces can still hold plenty of intrigue.
