Kieran Hayler has arrived at Lewes Crown court charged with raping and sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl while married to Katie Price.
The offences are alleged to have taken place between June and October 2016 at an address in West Sussex. Police said that the girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has received support from specially trained officers.
Hayler, 39, the former husband of Katie Price, denies all charges.
At a hearing in May it was reported that Price, 48, will be called as a witness during the trial.
The court was told that Price, who was married to Hayler when the alleged offences took place, will give evidence during what is expected to be a two week trial. The girl is not a member of Hayler or Price’s extended families.
Price and Hayler married in the Bahamas in 2013, but later divorced.
Following his October hearing, Hayler was released on bail until the trial today.
A representative for Hayler previously said: “Kieran Hayler strongly denies the allegations made against him in its entirety.
“Mr Hayler is fully engaged and has been co-operating with the police throughout the investigation and will continue to do so. He looks forward to his name being cleared believing in the judicial system to do so.”
