The Big Brother contestant appeared in a Channel 4 show alongside Love Island alum Chloe Burrows

Big Brother viewers will be floored after finding out Omar El Mayer previously appeared on a Channel 4 show.

The Londoner was introduced as a jewellery seller when he entered the famous house three weeks ago. He was excited to have been “selected” for the reality competition and promised to bring “something that people haven’t necessarily seen before on mainstream TV”.

He quickly settled into living with complete strangers and has even sparked a sweet romance with fellow housemate Rhianna Collins. But just like Rhianna, who appeared on multiple episodes of Made in Chelsea last year, Omar is also no stranger to the spotlight.

The jewellery salesman was featured on a Channel 4 show called The Intern, which aired on YouTube last November. It follows 20 fans of Love Island alum Chloe Burrows fighting for the chance to be her intern.

Hidden among the genuine candidates are fake fans hoping to lie their way to the final round and win £3,000. Omar was one of the “clout-chasers” who joined in hopes of winning the cash prize but he didn’t make it to the final.

But Omar’s brushes with fame don’t end there as the reality star is also a rapper that goes by the stage name of PAIID, boasting more than 30,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.

Chloe hosted the episode alongside I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! star Nella Rose, as well as content creators Harry Pinero and PK Humble. Omar is seen interacting with the panel of celebrities throughout the show, with Nella taking a liking to him from the moment he stepped on set.

The 53-year-old had hundreds of thousands of followers before appearing on Big Brother, with some fans arguing that he is “more famous than some of the celebrities on the last series of CBB”.

However, the broadcaster has also cast people with regular day jobs including a housewife, fitness coach and social worker.

Big Brother continues on ITV2 and ITVX tonight at 9pm
