Noel Gallagher says he and Liam never apologised to each other and made up with three simple words

They were apart and not speaking for almost two decades after Oasis split, but the Gallaghers patched things up in a simple way and the rest if history

Noel Gallagher has confirmed he and brother Liam never apologised to each other and simply said “how you doing?” when they reconciled after a huge row lasting almost two decades. The Manchester brothers clashed regularly when they were younger and working side by side in the band Oasis together.

Eventually, the fights became too much and Noel quit Oasis in 1996 saying he couldn’t work with Liam anymore. The pair then patched things up in 2024 and announced a reunion tour, which took place in 2025 and was the biggest comeback in British music history.

In unseen interview clip being released on Friday on Disney+, the pair are sat together and Noel says: “It’s like family is different. It is just different. If it was two geezers like y’know John Lydon and Steve Jones[Sex Pistols members who fell out] you know there might have been a sit down, but family is different, you don’t have to say anything. It’s as simple as that.

“You don’t have to justify not saying anything to anyone else. Everyone was saying to me ‘what was it like?’ And I was like, it wasn’t like anything. And they’re like ‘well what was said?’ I just said ‘how you doing?’. That was it.”

In another clip, which will air alongside the Oasis film Don’t Look Back In Anger on Disney, Noel and Liam also speak about their beloved mum Peggy.

Noel adds “Even through the 16 years, she never took sides. She would never say…y’know she would never say anything.”

Liam then interjects and jokes: “She used to say ‘I am her favourite’.” Smirking Noel replies: “She knows who the number one son is.”

Liam then jokes again: “She used to put all my pictures up and then when he[Noel] came round she took them down and put all his pictures up!”

The clips are part of the exclusive footage which fans can stream alongside the film Don’t Look Back In Anger which charts the Oasis comeback tour, but also how Liam and Noel went from barely speaking at the start of rehearsals and the first gigs in Cardiff, to being good friends again by then end of their time on the road.

The pair then did a joint interview as part of the film and explain how they are now on better terms than ever before. In the film Noel said: “All the little things that used to annoy us about each other have suddenly all gone away, it’s not a power struggle anymore, we’ve come out now as equals.

“We never used to text each much but now we text each other stupid videos like two mates would. We’re in contact way way way more often than we ever were. It was all forgiven without saying a word. I use this word to describe what he has been like, a word I never thought I would use to describe him, which is delightful.”

Liam said: “It feels like a weight has been lifted. We all said s**t that didn’t matter. I didn’t realise it was coming out of my mouth, half the s***. That’s the way it is. The music brought us back together. Oasis man. Oasis saves.”

The brothers and the rest of the band will now go on another Oasis tour in 2027 which sold out last month over a weekend with millions trying for tickets from around the world. They will play 42 dates across Scotland, England, Germany, Spain, Netherlands, France, Italy, US and Ireland.

Oasis split up in August 2009 after a huge row between Noel and Liam, who had been famous for their arguments and growing tension on stage. At the time, Noel said in a statement “I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer”.
