Pune: Honda, the Japanese car maker, has introduced the Honda Elevate facelift for the festive season which account for around 20-25 per cent of the total annual sales to boost sales in the fiercely competitive car market in the country.

The automaker launched the new Honda Elevate SUV with bold design and advanced features at an introductory price of Rs 11.80 lakh.

The updated mid-size SUV gets refreshed styling, a more premium cabin, additional technology and safety features while continuing with the tried and tested 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine.

It also introduced a new ZX Plus variant equipped with ventilated rear seats, powered front seats and a 360-degree camera priced at Rs 18.40 lakh.

“This is the third of our six key launches planned for this financial year,” Toshiyuki Yanagisawa, president and CEO at Honda Cars India told reporters.

He said he expects the new Elevate to play a key role in driving the sales momentum during the ongoing festive season and strengthen its product portfolio offering customers more exciting choices.

Officials said Honda is also launching an India-centric sub-4-meter compact SUV and the all-electric Honda O Alpha midsize SUV soon as its first mass-market model.

While electric SUV is currently undergoing extensive road testing and it will be locally produced at Honda’s Tapukara plant in Rajasthan, its all-new sub-4-meter compact SUV tailored for Indian roads will be manufactured with the help of Tata Technologies. Based on a new platform, this new car will be co-developed by Honda and Tata Technologies.
