VK Sabac Elixir and Total Waterpolo join forces to launch a new U15 tournament reserved for national champions. Seven title winners and the host will compete in Sabac from 22 to 25 October.

There is no registration form for the Elite Cup. There is no open call and no waiting list. The only way into the tournament is to win your national championship and wait for the invitation.

That is the idea behind the Elite Cup Sabac 2026, a new international U15 tournament created by VK Sabac Elixir in collaboration with Total Waterpolo. From 22 to 25 October, Gradski bazen Sabac will host the boys born in 2012 and younger who have already proven themselves the best in their own countries, and who now get the chance to prove it against the rest of Europe.

Seven champions and the host

In its first edition, the Elite Cup brings together seven national U15 champions alongside host VK Sabac Elixir. Semmelweis OSC arrive as champions of Hungary, Partizan as champions of Serbia and CD Brains as champions of Spain. Budva BR represent Montenegro, Steaua carry the title of Romania, Dinamo Tbilisi come as champions of Georgia and Post SV Nurnberg travel from Germany as they became the national champions this summer. Together with the host, they form a field of eight teams from seven nations, all chasing one trophy and the right to be called the best team of their generation.

The format guarantees every team six matches. The eight teams are split into two groups of four, with the group stage opening on Thursday evening and continuing through Friday. Saturday morning brings the crossover round, Saturday evening the semifinals and placement matches, and Sunday morning the final classification games and the first ever Elite Cup final.

Treated like stars

What sets the Elite Cup apart is not only who plays, but how they are presented. Every match will be broadcast via live stream with commentary and graphics. Every match will be covered through detailed live statistics on the TotalScore24 platform, tracking each goal, assist, save, exclusion and steal, so that families, coaches and scouts across Europe can follow every player in real time.

Every player will be professionally photographed, both individually and with his team, and photos and video from every game will be published straight after the final whistle. Individual awards, from the MVP of each match to the Tournament MVP, Top Scorer, Best Goalkeeper and the tournament’s Best Seven, will be decided by the numbers rather than opinion.

The goal is simple. For four days in Sabac, every U15 player should feel like a star, because that is exactly how the sport deserves to treat its future.

A bigger field in 2027

The first edition is only the beginning. The organisers’ plan for next year is to complete the map of Europe’s strongest water polo nations, with the U15 champions of Italy, Greece, Croatia and France expected to join the invitation list. The principle will stay exactly the same: a national title remains the only ticket in.

Built by a club that knows how to develop players

VK Sabac Elixir is recognised across the water polo world for its work with young players, and the club’s senior side won the Serbian league and cup double in 2018/19. The Elite Cup is the natural extension of that work, now brought to an international stage with the media and data support of Total Waterpolo.

Total Waterpolo will follow the Elite Cup from the first group match on 22 October to the final on Sunday, with live coverage, statistics and stories from Sabac throughout the tournament.
