As I sit here eating my breakfast at 6 am on the West Coast, which is oatmeal with fruits and nuts because I’m middle aged, something has occurred to me: Do people really like dried papaya? You don’t typically see it readily available by itself in snack bags, like you do with dried mango, and there’s just something off about the taste, like an elderly slice of hotel-buffet melon that fell on the floor for a few hours and ended up back on the table.

As you can see, there is a gigantic random chunk of it in my oatmeal right now, courtesy of the trail mix I bought last week, and it’s bumming me out. If you too prefer a papaya-free trail mix, Power Up Mega Omega is the kind I usually buy.

Mega Omega Trail Mix

The sale isn’t one to write home about, but this is a much better price than I paid for it last at the grocery store. Note that kids tend not to like this trail mix due to the dearth of M&Ms and cashews, and some (like mine) may refuse to eat at all on a hike or trip if this is the only option presented to them. So make sure you, presumably an anti-papaya adult, are buying it for yourself.
