Dodgers vs. Braves Game 4 prediction, props: Tyler Glasnow’s arm talent takes center stage

After a pitching duel for the ages between Chris Sale and Yoshinobu Yamamoto in Game 3, another pair of hurlers takes the mound in Atlanta on Wednesday.

Thanks to Yamamoto’s Herculean effort of ten strikeouts, the Dodgers are one win away from advancing to their third straight NLCS.

But before they look ahead, they must figure out Tyler Mahle, who enters with a 2-0 record and a 2.92 ERA in four home appearances at Truist Park this season.

The former San Francisco Giant was acquired at the trade deadline and now gets the start in Game 4 of the NLDS.

Tyler Glasnow gets the ball for the Dodgers, and the 33-year-old is well rested, with his last appearance coming on Sep. 24, when he struck out eleven against the Padres.

It was only a matter of time before the Dodgers’ bats came alive, and boy, they certainly did in Game 3. Despite Shohei Ohtani’s brutal stretch at the plate, two clutch hitters cemented their roles.

Kike Hernandez’s two-run blast and Freddie Freeman’s clutch solo shot in the fourth inning halted Chris Sale’s dominant early showing, leading to a 3-1 win.

Mahle now takes the mound for Atlanta, and he has pitched well at home since joining the Braves.

However, even if he is able to cool down LA’s bats, the Braves’ inconsistent hitting has hurt them this series.

During Game 3, Atlanta failed to deliver, going 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position. Staring down elimination, the Braves desperately need a spark from stars like Ronald Acuna Jr., who has labored through a quiet postseason, hitting only .143 across six contests.

Granted, facing high-caliber arms like Tarik Skubal and Yamamoto is daunting for any lineup, but Atlanta cannot catch a break as they now must contend with Glasnow.

The 6-foot-8 ace has a deadly four-seamer that can reach 95.4–95.5 mph, and it accounts for 34.7% of his arsenal, per Statcast.

Glasnow is also undefeated as a Dodger in two starts against the Braves. Overall, he is 2-0 with a 2.65 ERA and 25 strikeouts in 3 appearances.

When LA acquired Skubal earlier this season, many dubbed their bullpen the Avengers of baseball.

If Glasnow finds a rhythm, this could be the endgame for the Braves.
