The veteran actor Nana Patekar was found unresponsive in his Goa residence on October 8, 2026. The news comes as a shock to many considering how beloved he was by fans from all around. It was reported that the doctors tried to revive him for almost 45 minutes after he was brought in, but he unfortunately did not respond.
Nana Patekar had been a part of Bollywood for decades, and contributedto the indusrty with his immense work ethics and versatility as an actor. He was a reciptent of three national awards and known for his body of work across various critically aclcaimed movies. Nana Patekar made his debut in Gaman (1978), he quickly established his screen presence for the years to follow.
It was reported that Nana Patekar was working on a project for which his final scenes had been wrapped up. Shakti Shalini is a contrasting tale between Shakti and Shalini where Shakti is an ordinary girl turned protector whereas Shalin is a vengeful spirit on a mission to hunt down men as retribution for her brutal murder. This will be the last film in which Nana Patekar will be seen.
This film will be the latest addition to the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe which also houses some big hits including Stree (2018), Bhediya (2022), Stree 2 (2024) and Thamma (2025) among others.
Under the direction of Aditya Sarpotdar and screen writing by Durgesh Singh, Nana Patekar will be seen featuring alongside the rising star Aneet Padda and an ensemble of talents such as Vishal Jethwa, Vineet Kumar Singh and Seema Biswas.
There are further reports of Nana Patekar making an appearance alongside his Welcome co-star, Akshay Kumar, following the wrapping up of their scenes in Gwalior.
