South Coast Rly GM Inspects Railway Stations

KAKINADA: South Coast Railway (SCoR) general manager Sandeep Mathur and Vijayawada divisional railway manager Mohit Sonakiya, along with principal heads of departments and senior railway officials of the Vijayawada-Rajamahendravaram section and major stations, on Friday.

During the inspection the team reviewed ongoing Amrit Bharat Station scheme works, passenger amenities, cleanliness, safety arrangements, crowd management measures and infrastructure development at Eluru, Tadepalligudem, Nidadavole, Kovvuru, Godavari and Rajahmundry railway stations.

At these stations, Sandeep Mathur conducted thorough inspections reviewing track maintenance, signalling systems, yard remodelling and operations safety. He emphasised strict adherence to safety standards and efficient train operations. At Rajamahendravaram, in view of the anticipated influx of pilgrims during the Godavari Pushkaralu, Sandeep Mathru inspected prominent bathing ghats, Markandeya Ghat and Shraddhanand Ghat near River Bay, and the inspection focused on assessing preparedness, passenger movement and arrangements for the safe and smooth handling of passengers. He conducted a rear-window inspection of the Rajamahendravaram-Visakhapatnam section to assess track conditions, signalling operations and operational safety.
