However, the focus has now shifted to his personal life. In a recent interview, the 54-year-old actor opened up about co-parenting his three kids with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner. Ben also praised Jennifer for being a wonderful mom to his children.

In a recent interview with Sunday TODAY with Willie Geist, Ben Affleck praised his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, for being a ‘spectacular’ mother to his three children, 20-year-old Violet, 17-year-old Seraphina, and 14-year-old Samuel. The former couple finalized their divorce in 2018, and since then, they have been co-parenting their kids. While Ben believes that he is about 75 percent as good as Jennifer when it comes to co-parenting their kids, the children think otherwise. Ben said:
“Their mom is spectacular, and always makes me feel like I’m coming up a little short. I think I’m doing about 75% as good as your mom. And they’re like, ‘Maybe 40%. ‘ I’m maxing out, B+.”
The former couple welcomed their first child, Violet, in December 2005. They went on to welcome Seraphina in January 2009, followed by Samuel in February 2012. Further, in the interview, Ben reflected on co-parenting with Garner and his overall relationship with the actress. He shared that he respects Garner and is also grateful for her. He said:
“I think the most important thing is, you know, having that mutual respect — being able to get along with that person.”
In another interview with Variety, Ben mentioned that the kids live with him for a week, and the next week, they live with their mother. He said that his children have a very good bond with their mom, Jennifer Garner. He said:
“I know things will come up that are hard, and I don’t want to jinx that, but this time in my life as a human being is really wonderful.”

Ben and Garner first crossed paths on the set of Pearl Harbor in 2000. Jennifer had a small part in the film, while Ben was the lead actor of the movie. Although they were both in relationships at the time- Garner was still married to Foley and Affleck was engaged to Jennifer Lopez- they became close friends.
Ben and Garner made their first public appearance as a couple when they attended Game 1 of the 2004 World Series together. They supported Affleck’s home team, the Boston Red Sox. The couple was spotted again at Game 2, hugging and stealing a kiss as the Red Sox played. Ben and Garner’s romance came shortly after their respective relationships ended.
For those unaware, Jennifer Garner filed for divorce from Foley in April 2003, and Ben and Jennifer Lopez ended their engagement in January 2004. One year later, in April 2005, Ben proposed to Garner. According to reports, after nine months of dating, Affleck and Garner got engaged while celebrating Garner’s 33rd birthday. The former couple tied the knot secretly in Turks and Caicos in June 2009.
At the time, reps for both Affleck and Garner confirmed the nuptials and the news that Garner was pregnant. Everything was pretty well until 2015. They shocked their fans by sharing that they were getting a divorce days after their 10-year wedding anniversary. They filed for divorce on April 13, 2017, nearly two years after they initially announced their split in June 2015.
