A man in England was recently mauled to death after entering a tiger enclosure and being attacked by one of the animals on October 10, 2026. The individual, who seems to be in his 20s or 30s, lost his life untimely at a Yorkshire zoo under tragic circumstances. Footage of him being attacked by the tiger has been going viral online, where he desperately tried to stop the animal from harming him; however, it proved in vain.

In October 2026, a young man entered the caged area at England’s Yorkshire Wildlife Park. On the fateful afternoon, the man either jumped or fell into the tiger enclosure, and multiple witnesses claimed that he seemed to have been “agitated” before the jump, according to reports by the Doncaster Free Press. In videos shared on social media, a man in a black hoodie was seen seated in front of a tiger when the animal began attacking him.
The tiger could be seen biting the back of the neck of the man before mauling him on the ground. The man appeared to point to the animal while pushing it away with his legs. Some onlookers claimed that he repeatedly said, “Stop!” In his final moments, he hoped the animal would cease the attack. Unfortunately, that didn’t work on the big cat and ended up becoming one of his final words before losing his life.
The South Yorkshire Police shared that they received reports of a man entering the tiger enclosure around 1:35 p.m. However, before they could reach the spot, the tiger had already attacked the man, fatally injuring him. He was also provided immediate medical attention, and despite the “best efforts of medical personnel”, the man didn’t survive. The police authorities stated:
“Emergency services attended, and sadly, despite the best efforts of medical personnel, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.”
Following the incident, the Yorkshire Wildlife Park opened up about the unfortunate incident and told PEOPLE that they were aware that the “distressing footage” of the tiger toying with the human before killing him was widely being circulated on social media, which was immoral.
The zoo authorities, as well as the Yorkshire police, advised people to respect the deceased and not share the footage further. The zoo authorities stated, “We are aware of videos circulating online, and we would encourage people not to share this distressing footage.”
Gas canisters were likely shot to scare the tiger back into its enclosure
Some onlookers shared that, in an attempt to scare the tiger that took the man’s life, some gas canisters were used. One of the witnesses claimed that they heard “five shots” of a “gas canister” into the cage. Witness Dominic Ford said that an air ambulance, an ambulance and “a hell of a lot of police came” after being notified of the incident. Following the incident, the zoo authorities stated,
“We are working closely with the authorities to ascertain exactly what happened.”
The use of the gas canisters was reported to be just aimed at scaring the wild animal, and he was unharmed during and after the incident. The wildlife park, where the tragedy took place, has only two Amur tigers- a 17-stone female called Tschuna and a male called Altai, who only arrived in March 2025. The male tiger was reported to have mauled the man to death.
