When this Maharashtra village loses electricity, they don’t just call a wireman. They call Jyoti Sarjerao.
Since 2019, Jyoti has worked with the state electricity department, climbing electric poles, repairing faulty wires and responding whenever her village needs her, even at midnight.
As a child, she dreamed of joining the Army or becoming a police officer, but her height became an obstacle. Instead of giving up on serving people, she found another way to make a difference.
Today, Jyoti is challenging gender stereotypes one repair at a time, proving that skill, courage and dedication have nothing to do with gender.
Sometimes, changing mindsets starts with simply showing up and doing the work.
Would you have the courage to climb an electric pole to keep an entire village powered?
