The 30-year-old influencer was left with her ‘blood boiling’ after a recent trip to the nail salon – and her superstar sister Molly Mae completely agrees with her.
Molly-Mae Hague’s older sister, Zoe, has been left absolutely fuming over a “rude” everyday habit she believes everyone needs to put a stop to immediately. The 30-year-old took to social media to share her frustration, admitting she always thought we lived “in a really polite society” – until a recent trip to the salon proved her completely wrong.
Fresh from getting a “short, milky white” manicure, Zoe didn’t hold back as she ranted about the shocking lack of basic manners she witnessed from fellow customers.
“It turns out we don’t [live in a polite society]. I have just come out of the nail shop… I’m not joking, every single time I’ve been into a nail shop recently, there is always minimum one person in there that is rude,” she vented.
The influencer simply couldn’t understand why people feel they have the “right to be so rude, so mannerless, and so nitpicky” over a set of acrylics.
“It’s not that deep,” she insisted. “It’s your nails, it’s a colour, you can change it whenever you want. I get we’re paying for a service, and you want the service to be right, but my god, it doesn’t mean you have to be rude.”
Zoe recalled hearing demanding customers barking phrases like “that’s not right,” “that’s not what I asked for,” and “I was next in line.”
Instead, she suggested a much friendlier approach. “What about, ‘I’m so sorry, I think I was in the queue before you?’ or ‘I’m so sorry, do you mind if we look at another colour?’ Is that not how everyone talks? Because that’s how I talk.”
The tension in the salon left Zoe with her “blood boiling.” She confessed she was dangerously close to turning around at the door after paying, just to tell the other customers: “You’re all rude. You’re all so rude. You need to go back to basics and learn some manners.”
Reaction
To save her sanity in the future, she joked that she will just have to start wearing headphones to block out the unbearable eavesdropping.
It turns out Zoe isn’t alone in her frustration. Her superstar sister Molly-Mae quickly jumped into the comments to back her up, writing: “Glad someone said it!!!”
Fans also flooded the comment section to share their own second-hand embarrassment. One follower suggested the pandemic was to blame, writing: “It’s Covid, it’s changed basic manners, it’s wild”.
Another correctly pointed out: “As my mum would always tell me and I tell my children all the time, manners don’t cost anything.”
Meanwhile, one highly relatable viewer joked that they are so overly polite they actually say “thank you” every single time the nail tech simply moves their hand!
