Kritika Kamra has often chosen roles that showcase strong, independent women with complex personalities. Throughout her career, the actress has portrayed characters who challenge expectations, make their own decisions and navigate difficult situations. Continuing this trend, Kritika is now preparing to explore a new side of her character Gulrukh in Matka King Season 2.
As work on the second season begins, Kritika has exclusively spoken to Filmfare about Gulrukh’s journey and how the character will evolve in the upcoming season. The actress revealed that Gulrukh’s story is not simply about becoming powerful but also about recognising the strength she already possesses.
Speaking exclusively to Filmfare, Kritika shared, “What makes Gulrukh special to me is that her journey is not just about gaining power, but about discovering the power she has always had within her. She is learning to trust her instincts, own her choices and understand that she doesn’t have to fit into anyone else’s idea of who she should be. In Season 2, we see her become more decisive and take greater control of her circumstances, but she remains vulnerable and deeply human. That balance is what makes her journey so layered, and as an actor, it is exciting to explore a woman who is constantly discovering new dimensions of herself.”
For Kritika, portraying women with emotional depth has always been an important part of her acting choices. Gulrukh offers her another opportunity to explore a character who is constantly learning, evolving and finding her own identity.
With Matka King Season 2 moving forward, audiences can expect to see a more confident and determined Gulrukh. The upcoming season will further explore her personal growth as she learns to embrace her individuality and take control of her life.
