Elaborate arrangements are being made for President Droupadi Murmu’s visit to Vijayawada on October 14 and 15, Chief Secretary G. Sai Prasad said.
The Chief Secretary held a virtual meeting with officials from various departments on Monday and directed them to adhere strictly to protocol norms and guidelines issued by the President’s Secretariat.
The President will depart from New Delhi at 3.55 pm on October 14 and arrive at Vijayawada airport at 6.25 pm. She will travel by road to Indrakeeladri to offer prayers to Goddess Kanaka Durga between 7.20 pm and 7.40 pm.
On October 15, she will arrive at Punnami Ghat at 11.30 am to attend the SARAS Mela (Sale of Articles of Rural Artisans Society) as the chief guest. The event is being organised jointly by the Union Ministry of Rural Development and the Andhra Pradesh government.
The President will later attend a luncheon with members of self-help groups. She is scheduled to reach Vijayawada airport at 2.45 pm before departing for New Delhi.
