For those unaware, on September 17, 2026, Akriti took to her Instagram to share that she and Prithvi were calling it quits. She mentioned that they were parting ways as they had different goals and circumstances for their future. She wrote:
“As much as we love and care for each other, we’ve come to accept that our paths are not meant to be together. With our responsibilities and the circumstances we are currently facing, we have mutually decided to go our separate ways.”
It is worth mentioning that the announcement to call off their engagement came two months after Akriti shared a cryptic note about cheating. She mentioned that she got cheated on many times, but never said a word. She added that every rumour was true. The cryptic post quickly went viral, with several social media users speculating that she was referring to cricketer Prithvi Shaw and alleging that he had cheated on her.
Akriti later clarified the situation in another post and said that the post was misunderstood by many. The influencer shared that she never mentioned Prithvi’s name, nor did she say that their engagement was called off or that they had separated. She mentioned that it was unfortunate that netizens connected the cheating thing with Prithvi.
