Hyderabad: Police were on the look-out for a man who allegedly murdered a married woman over her refusal to marry him. The victim, Anjali, died in a hospital on Monday after being stabbed on Saturday, and the accused Ashwini was absconding, police said. Another woman, Ashwini, who was also stabbed in the incident why trying to save Anjali was recovering.
Police began investigations following a complaint filed by the victim’s brother-in-law Dileep. Anjali’s husband Sagar is in jail in a criminal case, police said.
According to the complaint, Ashwin, a friend of Sagar, used to visit Anjali at her native home in the village and they entered into a relationship. However, Anjali reportedly refused to leave Sagar and marry Ashwin. This culminated in Ashwin stabbing Anjali. Her sister-in-law Ashwini who tried to intervene was injured.
Ashwini called the police, Dileep said. Both women were sent for treatment and Anjali died on Monday.
